HOW TO HELP STOP THE TAIJI JAPAN DOLPHIN SLAUGHTER

I’ve had several questions about what people can do to help stop the Dolphin slaughter in Taiji. Here you go!

•GET INFORMED. Learn the what, where, who, and why about this hunt, specially the fact that most of the Japanese public is unaware of it. A great place to to so is with Richard O’Barry’s Dolphin Project (www.DolphinProject.org) and his campaign Save Japan Dolphins (www.savejapandolphins.com). Then share this information with your friends and family! It sounds so minuscule, but constant public and media pressure is great for our cause. The more people that know, the better!

•Donate to our non-profit via the website mentioned above. Your tax-deductible donation helps us immensely! We work hard to create a relationship with the Japanese public who are the only ones who have the ability to make direct change. Plus they come with awesome premiums! (https://secure3.convio.net/eii/site/Donation2?df_id=1942&1942.donation=form1

•Write letters to US Ambassador Kennedy thanking her for speaking up against the dolphin hunt and encouraging her to continue to do so! You can also contact Japanese embassies and consulates asking them to stop the hunt. If you do this PLEASE remain professional, polite, and respectful. Hate-speech, racist comments against the Japanese people, talk of boycotts, and foul language decrease our changes of being heard or making a change.

•Don’t buy a ticket to a dolphin show or swim with the dolphin program. This industry is linked to the slaughter. Go one step further, take the pledge not to do so! (http://www.thepetitionsite.com/5/stop-dolphin-captivity/).

•Become a cove monitor! Join us on the front lines in Taiji! It’s 18+ and not something to be taken lightly. The application and more information can be found at http://savejapandolphins.org/take-action/taiji-town .

•Watch the cove! Host as screening! (If you’re in Texas and you’re interested in me coming out to do a talk and Q&A session with for your group, school, or organization please let me know!)

•JOIN US AT OUR PROTESTS AND EVENTS! We love meeting new people and supporting a great cause.

•BECOME A VOLUNTEER! In the Texas area, I do tabling events, school presentations, and other activities to inform the public. Earth day is around the corner and I have some plans in mind, join me! (If you’re in a different area and are interested we can point you to the right people!)

For more information feel free to contact me here or via email (DolphinProject_texas@yahoo.com)!

Thank you so much for your interest and support  I look forward to hearing from all of you.

The other day SeaWorld came out with a rebuttal to the documentary “piece of propaganda” Blackfish. Check it out here. They also have three short, and very scripted, YouTube videos with some of the trainers. I’m sure someone from the Blackfish team will give a response. Hopefully we’ll…
